Haven't found much silver lately so I've really been looking at the 74D close.

Like the tittle says I've been pretty much skunked lately so I set all the 74'd aside to look at with my new loupe. I have decent eyesight (not over the hill yet but I can see the top of it from here) :-) But had given up on seeing it with a 8x glass. Anyhow I took this close shot with a lower end sony 5.1 mega pixel and my 16x loupe.

After someone else posted they done it I thought I'd try in disbelief.

Thats cool. I couldn't beleive it either until I tried it. I have found ten of these. I plan on selling them as a roll when I hit 20. Hope I get a good return on them.

My count on them now is 121 (I have an advantage in that I have been looking for them for several years now), and that is not counting about 5 or 6 coins I have put back in circulation due to them spending too much time in Vegas (very beat up). I have thought about putting some on ebay also, and probably will, but right now just still accumulating.

Same here. After several thousand bucks worth of halves, I still have yet to find one. And I check all my 1974-Ds.

1974-D's aren't the only ones you should be looking for. Here is a photo of a 1971-D. There are also double dies on other years(72,73,77,84) but these aren't as common and the seperation may be less making them harder to spot especially on circulated coins.
