Do any of you use ear buds instead of the ear muffs/phones?

I do a lot of firearms shooting and wear ear muffs. After a while of shooting I tend to get a headache from the pressure of the muffs. I was wondering if anyone uses ear buds when detecting.

My first detector has yet to arrive, but I'm already looking to "accessorize" it.

I have used both, I normally go for the headphones, I have a couple of good spots I hunt that are near railroads and when a train is around, it's hard to hear using ear buds.

I use in-ear isolation ear buds with an FM transmitter/walkman setup. Most lower end Metal Detectors do not have volume controls so you need to add an inline if you use earbuds ..

Very good point!

Ear Buds

Hi Guys I live in the desert and headphones get to hot and I really don't like the clamping pressure.
I tried many diff. ear buds with crappy sound, and then came across these. They are made for voice so they don't have any bass, they are crystal clear for MDing, under chin so no problem wearing a hat. Very comfortable. The best part they cost about 25 bucks.

Caliber transcription headset by Insight Headsets features crystal clear audio and inline volume control with stereo/mono switch. Completely redesigned, it is ultra lightweight, less than one ounce and comes complete with a 5' cord and 5' cord extender.

Here is there link::: You can find them on Amazon...allso.

I use a pair of munitio ear buds at work, they come with different size rubbers for different size ears. They're not cheap though.
