With a cannon-like explosion, this section of concrete highway in the 100 block of Poplar ave. Takoma Park, Md. buckled under the rays of the sun on June 6, 1937 , startling residence of the neighborhood. but causing no damage,, except to the street. Alice Bladen, 11 is shown looking over the result.
