Nice silver, those Canadian silver quarters are pretty sweet! Nice work

Found a handful of wheats, oldest being 1918D, and some more modern coins, and then this 1918 Canadian quarter. Found it on the US side. It's bent, and I think I scratched it a bit, the ground is pretty hard now.

Did you have your passport, lol? Nice old finds.

outstanding find ! - I dug a George VI Canadian quarter on the plaza in down town Santa Fe ,N.M. - about 8 years ago -

I love the "royal look" of the old Canadian coins, reminds me more of Pirate treasure then old US coins.

Santa Fe! That baby was a long way from home lol

They do have a very regal look to them, I guess it's the British flair that makes them feel older than they are. I do love the old Canadian coins a lot.

I like that look also, nice find!

Nice find! The heat and mosquitos are a thing of the past on the east coast...time to gear up for the chilly fall season of field detecting and the frigid winter season of beach detecting!

That's a great find buddy!
I wouldn't worry about scratching it up a bit ... it teaches me to be more patient for the next one! :laughing7:

I'm usually pretty careful, but the ground was fairly hard and it was only 2 inches deep. I did not expect a coin that old! I'm thinking it may have been fill dirt from another spot, the ground was weird, finds were all over the place as far as depth goes.

Great find. It surprising how many old Canadian coins are found in the bordering states. It was a little easier to cross the boarder back them i bet. I live in NY state and they pop up every once in a while. approx 20% of my silver coins have been Canadian I love finding them. HH
