Strange brass tag I found in a small field. The only other finds from it were a 1897 Canadian large cent, a 1860’s British half penny and a flat button. It says “heavenly rest Windsor,ON” which is not only a graveyard but very far from me here in Nova Scotia. Anyone have any idea what this type of tag could be used for? I’m thinking possibly to be put on a persons coffin for transportation back to where they wanted to be buried which in this case would be Windsor,ON? Maybe train cargo tag? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking! [emoji16][emoji106]

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

It’s been confirmed that it’s a cremation tag! [emoji106]

Have you tried calling the cemetery and asking?

Don......

I was thinking that but now that I know for sure what it is I’m thinking of putting it back where I found it next time I’m around that area! [emoji16][emoji106]

I would too; it's sacred ground to the family.
For sure, it's not something you would want to give to the next of kin.
