Definitely the work of an artist! My dad is a welder so I have an idea how much work went into that. Amazing before and after photos!
 

I find pieces of metal on the train tracks'
(from off the wheels), & have fun getting folks to
guess what they are, they look like something that
fell from the sky red hot, then cooled.

What caused the damage? Looks weird.

I've done a bit of work on sweepers myself. Elgins mostly, but it was a long time ago. Replacing broom cores was the worse job. I hated it.
