4.25 ounces. Appears solid; not hollow. Square nut on one end, I’d guess there is a stud on that end. 2 of the sides, on the large end, are flat. These are on opposing sides, 180 degrees apart. It resembles half of a rear end/final drive for a toy vehicle. But it’s extremely heavy and we’ll built if it is. Found around a bunch of square nails and old sandstone foundation stones. Thanks

Part of an andiron?
That’s interesting. It could be. You got me thinking fireplace. Maybe a handle from a poker. They were quite heavy so they wouldn’t warp from the heat and so you could hold them a little longer w/o getting burned. (?)

My first thought was... a wood burning stove lid handle. :icon_scratch:
But, more than likely from a piece of farm machinery.

Thanks. It looks similar. The square nut on the end of mine is what confuses me.
