Hi my name is Jon!!! Been around MDer's for quite some time now. I will be returning home really soon from work here in Japan and can't wait to spend some time MDing back at home. Started MDing about 2 years ago once again with my BH quickdraw 2 which i am honestly not a huge fan of. So I will be looking at spending quite a bit on a high end detector here in about 2 weeks. So if you guys have any advice by all means share it with me!

Hi Jon,

Im new to the forum and been detecting for a couple of months so not sure how much help I'll be but i've been working with the Garrett AT Pro and the more i use it and learn about it the more i like it. i dont think its exactly the right fit for my application as i do mainly beach hunting but so far its been great. easy to use, light weight, waterproof (except headphones and you can buy those) and is moderately priced. hope this helps and welcome!

I started back in Aug 2011, have bought/sold about 8 detectors... tried about 5 others.... I run an ETrac and an AT Pro as a back up... the AT Pro is a good bang for a buck...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!!! Also I appreciate everyone's imputs on there MD of choice. I am still up in the air as far as a new MD for me goes. I definitely like that new CTX 3030!!!! That one just threw me all off!
