I had a couple hours to kill today so I decided to hit a park I have pounded over the last couple years.
No park is ever hunted out.
The tornado coil sniffed this one out at about 8”.
1846 Braided Hair Large Cent.
They made 3 date sizes that year.
In comparison, this looks to be the small date.
I gently cleaned the front just to confirm a date but The patina on the back I will leave.
Find of the year for me!
