So my friend and I hit up a public park in Atlantic County, NJ. You need to have a permit to hunt there and surprise surprise, the office where you apply for the permit is only open Monday through Friday from 8-4. So obviously anyone working any kind of job can't make that. So we decided to risk it and see if we would be caught. My ACE250 sung out when it passed over a beautiful 1917 Wheat Cent about 3 inches down and again to find two musket lead shots of which age I have no idea...the area we were hunting in was an old WWI production factory site so who knows...about two hours in, we were stopped by a park officer and had to call it quits for the day since we had no permit, although he was very nice about it. It was nice getting back into the swing of things after not detecting in 2010 up to this point...

next time we will come prepared... got those permits!

"So we decided to risk it and see if we would be caught". If the place you were detecting required a permit why did you go ahead and hunt it. :icon_scratch: We have permits to hunt in some areas here but you can get them by mail as well. The permits are the same as getting permission. Sorry but I would never have gone there without the permit. Too many other places to hunt.
