I have been reading these forums for several years and been detectin since 1981 off and on. I have used whites all this time from the smaller blue box up to the XLT i currently run. I live in Maine and there are tons of lakes around me. I will be buying a water detecter in January for mostly fresh water hunting. I also live within 40 minutes of the ocean so may on occasion dip into the salt water. I am undecided right now as to which one to buy, I am leaning towards the Garret Infinium but also considering the Minelab excal. Read a lot here and the ratio of bad ML machines has me worried. I am aware that with the Infinium I will be digging a lot of trash. Both are within my budget so looking for help of experienced users of these machines or others I should consider. Thanks and HH.
