hey there i just recently started coin roll hunting after reading this forum and figured it was about time to join up and share my results.

so far ive bought about $200 in halfs of just what banks had on hand and have found 1 90% silver 64 in excelent shape too. one roll was all 2000d in near perfect condition

i like pennies and have bought and searched 2 boxes about and got in all 14 wheats being:
1926 1944s 1945s 1946 1950 1951d 1952s 1955d 1956d x2 1957d 1958d x3

searched 3 rolls of dimes and got 1 1960

I also went to the local coin shop (been there since 70s) got a few indian head cents for 90c a piece and a 44 walker for $7 just for the hell of it.

i plan on searching more coins in the weeks/ years to come and will post my finds. nice to meet you all.
oh and on a side note i was talking to my dad today and he told me my aunt has a bunch of coins at her house :) cant wait to see what she has. his exact words where "she's got a bunch of old silver" sweet.

edit: quick question, if i order a box of halfs do i need to pick it up all at once or could i get say $100-$200 at a time?? (im poor college student :P )

Welcome Looter & good luck. Be sure to post your finds with us.

Welcome!

I'm not sure if the bank will let you break up the box you order or not. The best thing to do is ask. The more they like you at your bank, the more you'll get away with. Don't abuse any privilege they may give you though, the tellers tend to get tired of it quick. I found a branch that will order and return full boxes twice a week without charging me anything for the service. Most banks have a fee involved with ordering, about $5 each way from what I've seen. I take the vault teller something nice every once in a while just to say thanks and keep her on my side. Usually it's a gift certificate for a local restaurant so she can get lunch on me, $10 or $15 or so, not much but it's worth it in the long run.

Good luck!
