I first thought mother nature like some type of fossil, but the more I look at it it seems man-made...I have no clue. Any help would be awesome, its about the size of a bowling ball...

Hello Jack,

Welcome to TNet, and thanks for showing us your find. I'm not a rock guy particularly, but would like to stear you to where they hang out: Rocks/Gems

Tough to beat Mother Nature when she's being artistic. I think it may be a type of concretion.

I have found similar stones with rounded out holes like that in Il. They were type of Native American fire starting tool like Brady was saying. My gut is leaning towards Native American, at least some of the holes look right, like last photo. Try posting this under the Indian artifacts site.

I have done a good amount of rock hunting - these are unusual. I believe they are man made. Very nice!
