I was surprised with a bounty hunter platinum for Xmas. It might not have been the detector I would have picked but after reading reviews it seems like it'll fit me well. This is my first detector and I'm kinda happy someone made the decision for me as I was over analyzing every aspect.
Took it out to my backyard and flipped her on. Set my ground grab and started by only discriminating out the bottom two clicks. I was running sensitivity on 8 as we have about 5" of snow on ground, amazingly the ground is super soft under it. So I got a few really good repeating dime signals at 83. Dug all of them. The first one I dug was scrap aluminum at 6" and the second was a license plate at about 9"+ never found the third. What settings should I run to help reduce the trash? Since I'm only doing my yard right now I can afford to start off extremely selective. Plus, the wife was looking at me funny as I kept digging more and more dirt.
