While rolling a 2 year basket full of pocket change, I found a extremely worn silver coin I would appreciate identification help...

Several hours searching the internet drew a big blank...

Not able to provide a picture at this time...so please bear with me...

The coin is thin and between nickle and a dime size...

Front has a series of stars and the word 'Republica'...everything else is too worn to identify...

The obverse has a winged staff with 2 entwined snakes, with a 5 to the left of the staff and a C to the right...date 1897 at the bottom...

The coin is holed and probably was a charm on a bracelet or necklace...

Definately not a Love Token...

I looked up Portugese, Venetian, and Bern/Swiss coins, and couldn't find anything, based on the word Republica.... if you can post pics, obverse, and reverse.. Our boy Mackaydon will know... fo sho!!!

Probably a Bolivian 5C coin, similar to this one of 10 C:

Thanks everyone...
