Help Identifying Asian Coin

Hey TreasureNet!

I have been busy scooping up coins from local dealers, getting pretty nice pieces when I can. Today, after picking up some Mexican 1 centavo coins from the 30s and 40s to play with, I caught sight of this teeny tiny coin and got it too, just for novelty's sake. I've been checking Google and Numista, but I can't seem to make any headway in identifying it. Anyone know what this one is, or where it's from, at the least?



More details on the coin:

0.6 grams according to my (mostly accurate and very cheap) jeweler's scale
10mm diameter, roughly
Not magnetic
Doesn't ring like copper does, so, possibly copper-coated aluminum?
Lettering seems to me to come from Asia, possibly Laotian or something like that

Thanks for the pointer, although I haven't been able to find anything matching this coin for Burma. Do you know what the writing says? Any year/denomination I could use to place it?

It is from the Asian India State of Travancore. The very small coins indicate a poor population.
