Help identifying small bar

Does anyone know what this bar might be? Was found near a old Post Office dating back to early 1800's.

The item shown is a lead bar used mostly by any one, from sealing drain piping or holes in concrete where a railing was to be put or casting bullets. The lead bar was put in a pot, melted and than poured.
