HELP IN WV

I would get some map and a plat book to find owners name number etc.. look for creeks possibly to start but medium sized rivers are another especially if big horshoe bends in them. Many times these spots attracted wildlife to waters edge. this can be a spot for artifacts of anykind.

Then there are fields close to a water source

some ideas anyhow if you havent done so already! dont know the actual terrain or history of the area.

What are you looking for? May want to look in General discussion by location!

WV is not widely known for being much of a gold deposit area. Research will show that although chances are slim, there may actually be a little bit, but probably in the form of flakes or dust. Most glacier related gold would be more likely to be found in the northern part of the State and on up into PA.

I'd think you'd have a better chance at finding gold coins and things related to the Civil War or the depression era which the area you want to hunt is quite plentiful in available places to hunt. Just hit the common places. Parks, schools, ball fields, amusement parks, anything you can imagine that isn't government protected federally or by the State.

Every place I've mentioned requires its' own research. I couldn't just tell you to go to a specific site because I don't live in or hunt in that particular area. I'm researching my own property at the moment , which lets me stay in my own back yard, but the research has made me learn a heck of a lot more than I wanted to know about the over-all history of WV.

Hope you find something soon. Good weather is on the way.......EVENTUALLY.
