Hi guys – anybody know anything about antique wood furniture? I can pick up this old wood hutch for pretty cheap, had planned on using it to display all of my keeper items. There are no markings that I could find on the bottom of drawers or on the back. It was the lady's grandmothers so it's at least 80-100
years old.

Could likely get it for about $30.

Would appreciate any feedback…

We have one exactly like it here in our living room. It is not a hutch. It is a Secretary. The bottom drawer is missing which really hurts the value. The finish is also in poor condition. If you don't mind the missing drawer 30 bucks sems fair. I usually don't like to refinsh old furniture but in this case I would make an exception. If they have the front for the missing drawer, you can repair it. Making a new drawer would be extreamly expensive, if not impossable. At least at home. It is somewhere between 75 and one hundred years old. They have very beautiful wood under that old finish.

Thanks! The drawer is there, just on he side from looking for a mark. I will call and offer $30!

Do you have a picture of the draw dovetails?

I had one as a kid. Loved the pull out "hidden compartment" bits in the top.

Went back a couple hours ago and it was sold for $50 :(

Wish I woulda got it

bummer that looked like a good piece especially for 30 bucks. Even if you didnt sell it just to have in the home. Theres always next weekend!
