Help with button

I'm trying to find out how old this button is. Same olive branch design on both sides. I'm thinking early 1800's. Any idea?

Hard to tell if it actually is a button. Could also be something like the adjusting wheel from an old oil lamp.

How big is it? It's always good to put a coin or something we know the size of in a picture so that we can give you more help in identifying your piece.
