My wife picked this up along a river in central NC. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? I thought maybe something from a bridge or an old mill of some sort. It is 2"x8"x1" and it appears as if the squares are indented, but solid. It also feels much lighter than iron. Thanks in advance for any ideas. mk%igXGEQZmCMxvuQRUsRA.webp

I don't know, but it is perfectly level! Interesting piece,.

I have no clue! The piece may need electrolysis done on it to get a better look at the bare piece and to look for stampings and pics of all sides are also needed as well for any possible identification.

If that a "v" on left top side, it may be part of a milling machine old type vise, the "v" slot would hold different sizes of round bar when you were going to put a flat spot on the shaft or key way, I you didn't find the hold down pc's that go with it. Just a guess. Thanks for posting, good luck out there.

Almost looks like 2 metals... the outside being one and the center parts being iron.

Can we get a picture of the reverse side and sides please.
