help with identity

I found this detecting here in Mid Michigan. The area was settled by members of the New York migration to Michigan. I don't know if this is from that era or not, any help would be appreciated. Its pretty thin and made from copper/brass.

It appears to be a sash buckle. Don't know any more about it but it looks old. Nice find.
