P9251756.webpCan anyone help ID this buckle and another piece both brass or copper , found right next toeach other along with some brass / copper rivets and a few 45 schofield cartridges . The area had a small military encampment in the late 1800s . Any Help is most appreciated.

Nice saves. Sorry I can’t help with the ID.

Your buckle is a tensioning buckle and the other piece is mounted to something for the strap to run through and keep in place.
Great finds

The thing with two holes is a strap retainer/guide. Could be from a chest, cargo wagon, baggage rack, etc.
