Can anyone help with this painting it is very hard to tell that it is a painting super flat
Only with a loupe you can tell it is paint. Seems really well done I?m wondering if it?s to dark to see a signature. It is on a thick cardboard material.

Higbee was a department store from 1892 until 1990's when bought out by Dillards. Maybe they have a record of the number on the back of the painting. Gary

The style is "Hudson River School". Hudson River School artists believed that nature in the form of the American landscape was a reflection of God.

Mostly popular in the mid 19th C, the style had a bit of resurgence with the swell of American patriotism following WWI.
