Help with pin id

Any ideas what organization this could be? Lapel pin from 1940's.

Can you tell us where you found it? An history? Any markings on the back?

What do you think the pictures represent? A ladder and a house? A house boat? Noah's Ark?

This came from an estate sale jewelry box lot. Other lapel pins that were with this were masonic but this pin does not seem to fit any of their criteria.
I first thought it was Train tracks and a railroad car looking closer it looks like Noah's are resting in a chair. I have not teated it for gold content but am sure it is at least 10-14kt gold filled. All of the other pins were hallmarked Whitehead & Hoag. This one has no hallmark. Dates of other pins range from 1870-1930.
I appreciate you help and am glad that I found this place.

It could easily be Masonic. In those Degrees of Masonry where the ceremonies and instructions relate to life and death, man's journey over the sea of life is symbolized by Noah's Ark.

I see the chair now.

In this case, the key to a correct reading is to "climb the ladder"— i.e., work your way from the bottom up: I O M.

The letters stand for Independent Order of Mechanics, a fraternal organization. Note the same "ladder & ark" symbolism on the medallion of the badge shown below.

Additional Information: The Independent Order of Mechanics (IOM) was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1868 as a benevolent, beneficiary fraternity providing health and life insurance to its members. Despite its name, it was not formed by or restricted to mechanics or similar workers, nor was it a labor union. Interestingly, it had the same motto as the Independent Order of Odd Fellows— "Friendship, Love, and Truth." Originally, the IOM was restricted to white males between 18 and 50 years of age, and in 1897 it reportedly had 10,000 members. Most sources indicate that it existed only into the 1920's or 30's, but I have seen a few references suggesting that it may have lingered at least a little longer.
