Help with trigger guard mark

Hey guys. Found this trigger guard...I broke it with my shovel. Words cannot express how much it pissed me off. It looks like an S or 8 under a crown. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Spent the past few hours researching. I think it's an Enfield.

Definitely not an Enfield, I believe it is a model 1809 Prussian "Potsdam" musket triggerguard. You can probably google it to see one.

Glad to help, was it found in Canada? They were a common import for the US Civil War.

Yes in Atlantic Canada. Not too far from Maine. It's a loyalist town
