I'm working on cataloguing some of my metal detecting finds, while trying to describe some buttons ive found I realized I'm lacking in knowledge of two piece buttons, I know they followed flat buttons and were popular during the civil war but I'm not sure when they started being made or how long they were popular or really anything else about them.

These are examples of what I'm trying to describe they come from a site that has many items from the 1830's I suspect these buttons are from that time period. I know two piece is also a broad term, im thinking these fit in a more narrow category like two pieced domed or something like that.
if anybody can enlighten me or straighten me out on my facts I would appreciate it.
