Hello,

I found an old silvare plated fork. On it is written Henry Elliott & Co, Sheffield. I haven't been able to find any information on this english brand. The mark is N.P in a shield. Anyone have an idea of the period ?

THanks

TL

Yes, I saw those but mine is the silver plated kind, so no plastic handle of any sort.

Stumper...... After several Hallmark sites, British, American, and a couple Europeen ones, only NP I found was in an oval and was still listed as unknown.

Henry Elliott - I could only find references to Favell, Elliott & Co (Rupert Favell & Henry Elliott) with a Londn maker's mark of RF over HE within a shield.

Hopefully someone else can shed some light, especially with a similar item listed on Ebay.

Badfrog...You have a pic? I got a few books on silver/plate,etc.(i'm showing 3 of the 5)i've looked at 3 of my books&looked at the epay thing(can't read ebay pic)and have cameup w/NOTTA!,it's got to be easier then this!! Sheffeild is a generic(sorta)term, meanig plate, not Sheffeild.England per say,but can be from England, but MOST of the time meaning PLATE(as you already know!)...so if you have a picture i'm pretty sure i can give you more info.
