Re: here's a goodie!!!

Well I think the auction ended but I belive they had it listed at just over 1200 dollars I would look into it even though yours is broken it should still have some pretty good value.

Re: here's a goodie!!!

Oh yeah its a mint error where the copper jacket platchlet is missing.

Yeah I wish I had saved the auction but I didnt. I only look cuase of how high the price was Ill check to see if they put it back up and then send the link this way.

Re: here's a goodie!!!

Did you check the Completed Items ?

Re: here's a goodie!!!

Thats a strange one. Mint errors are usually rare and worth a buck.

Re: here's a goodie!!!

Look under todays finds January 10 2005 posted as found in change, I got one just like it!!

Re: here's a goodie!!!

It's a split planchet error and most valuable when you have all the parts. I've frequently dug split planchets that give you a rough side and a struck side. My favorite is the one on a shield nickel. If its not split all the way then its called a clamshell. exanimo, ss

That's a shame weldermark. But at least you can pay for 1/4 cent sales tax. ;D
