I went to a park that I havent been to in a while and found the usual clad. I was thinking about heading home soon and then got a signal that interested me. It was 9-36. I didn't like that combo of numbers but I remembered about the consistent signal rule.....and it did NOT bounce. The grass was about 4 inches tall and about 3 inches in dirt. I peel back the earth.....and I can see the unmistakable edge of gold....or at least I think so. I wipe away the dirt and threre is something odd about this find. Its almost for sure is gold but there is 2 pennies stuck in the center of this ring!

I took it home and cleaned it and was able to get the pennies out by boiling....the pennies were jammed in the center of the ring , tight. I only thing I can think of how this happened ...is that the ring was in someones pocket with change...and the pennies just happen to fit inside the ring exactly....weird.

Gold signals to me are always so....."subtle". Not like silver that screams out at you. I guess that's why its hard to find and... harder for some others to find. I am lucky this signal didn't bounce...if it did...I may have missed it. Another learning experience!

The ring is 14kt and name brand maker.

Pennies jammed in the center? Bet that was in someone's pocket! I often take off my ring and slip into my pocket when doing certain tasks. When I retrieve it, there are frequently coins lodged in it I have to knock free.

Nice finds (regardless of now the penny got into the ring) Jamesbondaka - thanks for sharing...

:hello2: You definitely got your "2 cents worth" today, lol. Lovely ring! Andi

Nice find.. Gold is always a good find... Congrats.

Very cool find

Very nice ring find. Gold is such a great sight to behold. Its so ironic that someone placed the ring in their pocket for safekeeping and the absolute worse thing happened--he lost the contents of his pocket and the ring with it. I guess that makes him a loser! (pun intended). Poor guy.

A similar thing happened to my brother many years ago when we were teenagers. Before starting a round of golf, Eric took off his watch and put it in his front pocket for safekeeping. A short time later, he hit a golf ball and it ricocheted back and hit him --you guessed it-- in the front pocket. The watched shattered. Funny how things work out sometimes.

I guess you are right.....I would not know this as I am single guy and dont wear a wedding band. The interior edges of the ring were curved inward....so when the pennies got into the ring....they were jammed sooooooooooo tight and no way to get them out. Boiling did the trick!

Cool find, best two cents one can find.

Now that's something you don't see every day! We're they copper cents or zincolns? Wonder if both kinds of cents would have altered the signal?

Oh for sure! That is why I almost did not dig it as the number on the TID was off, but the signal was too good to not check out...and it did not bounce which is big for me on gold. Coins tend to bounce a lot....gold seems to always be steady. I like that part. One penny is 89 the 0ther 94.
