✅ SOLVED Hexagonal thing with screw?

Found this thing today. No idea. At first I thought it was a lug nut. After I cleaned the dirt off, it is a hexagonal nut looking thing with a screw in it and a knob to turn the screw. It is flat on the back. I took several pictures and made a composite. Can't imagine what this could be used for. It was the best signal I got in the short time I was out today. Read like a coin.

That goes on a framing square to duplicate roof pitches, etc. Usually there are two .. one for the rise and one for the run.

Thanks, creskol. That makes sense. Everything else I found near it was scrap aluminum and construction waste.
