Heck! The heaphones alone are worth that. :D Pricey detector new - like $1,600!! You might try asking for info on the JW Fisher forum here. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php?board=214.0 Not much activity there, but maybe a tip ot two. Now you have to buy the SCUBA diving gear, though. ;)

Good find. Not many here ever find a detector.

Nice to meet you and welcome to the Treasure Net. I don't know anything about the metal detector but hey, I'd be tickled to death to find that.

Phew!!!! That was a heck of a find! A quick Google search puts it's value above $1500. If it works you have a great find and if you have to get it repaired you still have a great find. Win , win situation I believe. Good luck with your new detector. TD

Hey Mutt, and welcome.
What a turn around! Usually one of us finds an old coin and buys a metal detector after that. Well, you found a detector (if it works), now's the time to find some coins. :)

thats the detector they use in "Into The Blue".....excellent find......send it to me and i will see if it works lol

Excellent find!!! Hopefully it works. Put er up on eBay, and then buy yourself a new DFX, or XLT!!

Purchased a Pulse 8X about two months age. Before buying, I called the company. A woman answered the phone and just said Hello. I thought I had the wrong number and apologized. She said it was the home phone for JW Fisher and they were closed and all calls were transferred to the house. She told me that her husband, Jack, would be home at 5:30 and to call back.

I called back and talked to him for about 15 minutes. What a great guy. How many times do you get to talk to the owner of a company that makes detectors, let alone at his house?

I have not tried the 8X very much because I live in Pennsylvania and it is a little cold in the water at the time. I do know that it goes deep but can drive you crazy in trashy areas. I purchased this for scuba diving and also have a Minelab Excalibur 1000. After trying them both out underwater, I will post which one I like best.

Wow! Nice find for sure! Welcome to the forum and I will admit it....we are all hoping it works and you become an addict like us so we can see your pictures of finds posted here! :D :D

Well, to follow up. I want to thank Bob for the owner's manual download. And to break everyones heart, I Ebayed the 8X. I think the winner was in Florida, paid just shy of 700 for it and is very happy according to his feedback! Man I like free money!!
