Has anyone have any idea how much it will cost to plug in these electric cars overnight to go a lousy 200 miles .I can picture that meter spinnin outa control. The batteries are a real bargain too

Electric cars are for people who just want to go to church and to the grocery store. How many charging stations are around in any area? You can't go on long trips. Gas (or diesel) is the only way to go.

Actually, a few folks have also successfully converted their gasoline engines to run on wood gas. I bet they'd work even better using wood pellets for fuel.

As for charging electric car batteries, yes, they do draw some energy. But considering what electricity costs compared to what gas costs (when it's high), an EV can be a smart choice for people who don't need anything more. There's even an off-road electric pickup now!! Price tag is 25k-30k new, and that's including the batteries. The article in Farm Show magazine says it costs only 2¢ per mile to operate. Batteries have a life span of 7-12 years. The website is:

for people that live too far out for electric and do not have ready access to wood, there's always distilling wood or grain to make alcohol. And while lots of progress has been made in these and other areas, nothing is truly going to replace fossil fuels until electric vehicles are made that draw their power wirelessly from towers rather than from batteries. That would make the vehicles lighter, lower-cost to manufacture, and able to run as long as within transmission range of the special towers. But that's still a bit too Buck Rogers yet!! Not to mention, I think there will be even greater problems arise before that kind of electric transmission becomes a part of daily life.

Not sure why you guys are hating on those newfangled E-lectric cars...

But, a simple google search reveals that it cost about $3.50 to "fill up" a Nissan Leaf and drive it 100 miles.

Ridiculous concept only a hundred miles, power failures expenesive,batteries, dangerous after accidents, no common sense here
