Hello you treasure hunters. Greetings from western nevada. Been looking for another hobby for a while and my kids went and got me a metal detector for christmas. Never done it before, but have went to the river close by and played around a few times. Came back with a few pennies, bottle caps, nails and shell casings. Looking for any hints or areas to go near Carson City. Detector is bounty hunter tracker 4. Still trying to get a feel for it and the settings.

Ive seen them ripping the streets out over the last year or two along main street, id head that way first. Seen someones post of a gold coin found there last year too if thats not good proof.

Dranoel76, welcome to TNet...I spent a couple of years in the Reno area while attending UNR...I would look into the old maps of the area and try to discover some of the old home sites located on farmer’s fields...there are many posts on TNet on the best ways to ask a landowner for permission to detect their fields...you should find some nice targets around these old homesites to include coins...good luck on your hunts and keep us posted on what you find..Walt
