"...oh man a 1910 wheat penny!" is what I said. My wife was using pennies as spacers for her bathroom tile job so I hopped in to help set them when I spotted the old cent. Then another one! ..and another! Oh my God they are ALL wheat pennies!

...it was at this time I recognized the orange little bucket from my office. The bucket I toss my wheat pennies in. She said that our kids took some earlier as well. Geesh.

.

She DID mutter something like "..maybe if you spent less time digging up pennies and MORE time helping me tile this floor these types of incidents wouldn't happen".

Ouch that hurts! Other than the silver and other notable coins, I keep all others in labelled containers with lids, and on my dig shelf in my closet. Everybody knows "hands off".

On a side note, nice tile. We put in the same stuff...

Women have a way of getting their point across. I think you got that message LOUD & CLEAR! 5 X 5! :laughing1::laughing7::icon_biggrin:

I know nothink !! But it does look like she was pretty much caught red handed !

I thought this was going to be about a heavyweight fight........wait! Maybe it still can be!! ;)

This reminds me of a time when I caught my son with a hand full of silver dimes. On his way out the door to the candy store. I confronted him and he said it was the tip he got from a nice lady on his paper route. (UH HUH!!!! I believed THAT!! :angry1: )

I marched him back to my dresser and pointed out my half full cup of dimes I'd found! ( I really didn't know how many should be in there)

He stuck by his story. So, I told him to take me to this lady's house and if she didn't back him up......well........! :BangHead:

He did, it was an older lady, down about a block. She said "Oh Sure! I give all the kids a treat for their work!" She then not only showed me a large cup of silver & clad dimes, it was an exact duplicate of my own cup at home!! LOL I explained why it caught my attention and that I'd be happy to pay her the silver price for all of her silver dimes! She handed me the cup and said take it! I got plenty more!

I couldn't do that though. Never saw the rest and never again doubted my son. Treated him to a steak dinner that night! :)

What a bummer.. at least she didn't spend them...

Maybe it was a good thing she didn't use modern zincs....your tile spaces would have been all off.
That was a classic recovery on her part....make it appear to be your fault.
You need a locker for "finds" my friend.
....the kids once found my "silver coin stash" and thought it was a good idea to toss the coins at each other in the basement. We had a coin hunt and found all but one nickle.
Never again!
