I just made this. Took me about 15 minutes. Texas soil sucks. It's like digging in the middle of the road.

Took this old T I had laying around. Mated it with a hubcab prybar from an old volvo. Drilled a hole for a set screw. Sharpened the end with a file.

Just tried it outside in this Texas limestone. It cut through it like butter.

The T at the end gives you awesome leverage.

That looks really good for tough ground.

Thanks... Now I need to paint the handle bright orange so I don't lose it.

I agree about the Texas Soil, it can be very frustrating some times.

If you weld an angle on the side of it for a foot step....then you really have something there.....easier on the hands.

looks a little heavy to carry around you should put a carry strap on it and paint it camouflage if you put a big spring in it will work like a jackhammer. Great Job

Actually when I go detecting I wear a carpenter's toolbelt and it fits perfect right in the hammer holder.

Here is the edge I put on it.

That's what we need for winter hunting in the frozen tundra up here!

OK It's finished (For Now). I painted it white and put on a soft handle so it's easy on the hands. Going to go use it today.
