Took a different route today. Back to the Civil War area I cut my teeth on when I was a 15 year old kid. That was 45 years ago and Mechanicsville, Virginia has changed much in those 45 years. This is the home of the great Cold Harbor Battles. Many a dead man lay under those huge development of houses and roads. Its a shame we don't give more credit to the Americans that lost their lives in a War against brothers fighting for the same thing, in most cases, and that was Honor. Well today I would like to dedicate these finds to their heroic lives, the statues that represent them all, North and South, and to knowing our True History, so that we do not make the same mistakes all over again!

Equinox did a great job recovering relics I once hunted with a metrotech. Boy have we come a long ways! The A.V.C. cuff I have detected over fifty times but now it is mine. The scribed A piece is beautiful in weight and color and was only 5 feet from the buttons 11 - 1 (66).webp11 - 1 (67).webp This field was very productive in the 1970's and I think was the first place I ever found a two ring gardner. Today 11 - 1 (68).webp.
I know the old scabbard tip but have not been able to ID the pewter piece11 - 1 (69).webp. Maybe one of you can help. It was nice getting back to my roots. Don't forget YOUR roots. Thanks for looking!

Congrats on some great Civil War relics. It's a shame what they have replaced real History with in the public schools.
