I have been searching an old homestead site here in central Az. for more than 35 years and I have found military items from 1865 thru 1945. These two items came out of the ground yesterday and I don't know what they are. Hoping this forum can shed some light. The ornate hasp looking thing was heavily gold gilded and the foot shaped thing appears to be silver or nickel plated. Thanks for looking.

The top piece looks like some sort of shoe insert from back in the day.

Hope they had some memory foam on that thing :laughing7:

I would guess the other item is part of a book clasp

Are those rivets on both sides or only one? It almost looks as if it had an edge on it.

Hello LD. I think you are correct. I thought the same thing based on the item pictured below found by a friend at a c.1920's house. That thing looks painful.

Nice ID and Good Luck. C9

Congratulations on the two interesting relics! :occasion14:

Bottom piece seems to be half of the top of a purse.

Thanks for your input everybody. A book clasp seems to be a reasonable conclusion and the foot shaped item has rivets on one side as though it was attached to another piece. It seems to me ,if it were an orthodic, that it would cause more problems that it would cure. Thanks again.

First pic may be part of a corn knife, second might be from an old parlor stove.....maybe?
