I brought my AT Max along to NH while helping my sister get her Mom's house cleaned out and sorted since she is the executor. While getting the Max back together last night she mentioned she lost two rings at the same instant last year because of the cold making her fingers shrink. She knew the general vicinity where they came off near the deck.
I marked 5-6 prospective areas before digging anything.
First area seemed too large and turned out to be a buried electrical wire about 3" down with a green iron fence post laying next to it, protecting it.
Next area was reading 48-50 @ 6". Seemed to deep but dug it anyway and saw the skinny end of a pull tab. Then I thought, pull tabs aren't yellow.
Sure enough it was the more favorite of the two she lost, with a garnet in it.
I was back to being the favorite brother again ...... for a couple of hours anyway.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the second one. At least not yet. Still time though, as I have two more full days before heading home.
Nice feeling to find the ring's owner even if she is my sister.
PS. The 4th photo is the result of getting a nice strong 60-65 signal coming from inside the base of a tree. I'm thinking coin cache until the aluminum can popped out. I'm guessing someone who wasn't supposed to be drinking put it in a hole in the tree to avoid detection.
Thanks for looking.
