How long?

How long does it take you to search and re-roll a box of halves?. Also, out of a box, how many marked coins do you come across? I just spent about 2 hours searching and re-rolling (checking dates and using same wrappers). And though I wasn't counting, I figure about 60-80 marked ones.
Got my 2nd box today and ALMOST got skunked. 1 -64. Thanks.

I go thru a box in about 45 minutes. Here's my process:

- Any roll with silver on the end gets opened first.

- I use a letter opener and slice open the serrated edge to get the wrapper off, which goes in the trash. I never re-roll or open the roll at the ends.

- I don't look at the edges, instead I leave them stacked and look at each coin, transferring each one to my left hand. I like this because it adds a little drama. Love when I take a coin off the top and a Ben or silver JFK is next! I always do a little Austin Powers-ish "Yeah, baby!" when a silver shows up.

- I put any 74-D in a separate pile to inspect later. Rejects go in my jumbo casino bucket. I have a canvas bag that I tote them to the casino in.

Thanks for the reply Immy. I thought about dumpimg at the casinos. I've got 2 indian casinos near me, but the last time I went to one they had replaced most of the slots with voucher payouts. A lot of them you can't even put coins IN. Also noticed most of the coin counters at the tellers windows are gone. It's only a matter of time around here.

I do my searching a lot like Immy, including separating the 74D's out. One thing I do different is if I see a silver peeking out at the end I will set it aside and open it last, that way I KNOW I will end up with silver on the last roll. I dont reroll a lot of mine, as I spend most of it at convenience stores, WalMart, etc. I do keep about 10 rolls in my truck though for when I need to pick up some fuel.
