I went and got some juk (bottle caps, odds and ends) one antique foil, one modern discolored nickle and a very worn 1909 liberty nickle. That was all for me, how about you?

First it was heat and now heavy rain. I stayed in most of the week end. jimakaks

I went out Friday and found a Civil War revolver ball and a piece of an old hinge. Went today and found some rare pulltabs and 1 measley penny.

If I am not working on the weekends I am out hunting.

Got to check out and old farm field on Sat. Nothing special, but did find a dump that went down about a foot and a half and will be going back with shovel and rake to work area. From my test, seems to extend about 15X8 foot area and need to work it.

Got to see about 8 deer, bunch of birds. It was a good Sat. here in Illinois; weather in high 70's, sunny; sometimes life is good.

It was go out hunting or cut the lawn and work around the home, had a tough decision to make.

I have my house up for sale so Friday evening I took the plat, a 100' tape and, the Bounty Hunter out to find the corners with, success. today i found a cub scout neckerchief slide and 3 modern pennies. one of those was from under an ancient oak tree i swear has more, older coins. all this was in my yard. I hate to leave here. I was thinking bout ading a clause to the closing documents that i have to be hunted down and notified if the oak tree is ever uprooted or cut down.

Well, I was two for two. Went Friday and Saturday hunting a cabin and rock corral that I discovered in the middle of nowhere about fourty yards from what I am guessing is an old gold mine from all the quartz around. Anyway found an old keg or trunk handle and one of the little wedge thingies that goes in the end of a hardwood handle of a hammer or something similar. Oh yeah, I found a modern metal detector calibration tool.... you know, a pulltab! Also found about a zillion pieces or wire and about twice the number of nails! Gosh, you gotta love all metal mode!!!!

By the way, on the same subject, anyone here know what to look for to find gold? Well, I mean other than gold itself! I am kinda new to gold country and could be walking all over this stuff with no clue! Maybe I should start a topic.... think I will...
