I usually start by digging up all targets with a decent signal. You know, if you don't you can miss some good stuff. Then as the day gets later of course my resolve weakens and I start only digging good numbered targets. :)
Im sure I have bypassed some good stuff.

By nature I guess we want to get every good target so dig even signals we really know we shouldent I sometimes use all metal mode

Over the last few years I've begun digging all signals. I have a silent bet with myself that I can identify good targets from junk just by the signal on my Quattro or Sovereign. Most of the time I'm right but not always. It keeps me digging everything. Sure I have to carry a trash bag with me for all the worthless stuff, but I've hit a couple of keepers that surprised me. Anyway, it's good for the environment to pull that trash out of my favorite spots.

Not once has it been wrong but the way i figure it one off these days it will and I will never know what I missed.

hammered silver on edge under rusty nail?

if its a clear crisp signal, it's betting dug, I'd rather pull out a pull-tab than miss a silver or gold!!

I have a fear of missing a good find 2 lol

usually at a new site it dig all targets at first then start the mental discrimination

I cherry pick for silver first and then go back with zero discrimination and dig all solid hits. Takes longer but, what else do i have to do. ;)

I dig everything with a good signal. By the time I'm ready to leave I'm crawling on my hands and knees to my car. ;)

If I don't dig everyone I start thinking to myself what if what if what if what if. Then I go back to dig up the trash, maybe one time there was something worth going back for I cant think what it was. So yes I dig all, all day.

Just got a DFX this past December and only had it out twice....I don't trust it one bit.....but I dont know it intimately yet either.
Maybe once i've know it...the trust will come. ;D
