Hard to tell how old it is, but it looks like a cobbler's hammer to me.

Agree w/ creskol that it is a cobbler's (or possibly bookbinder's) hammer - they look similar. The one I found last year dates to mid-late 19th C, as that is what my research shows a shoe shop operated on the property. You may want to research your property to see if a former owner repaired shoes...

Nice find W0otiez! Is it my imagination that the head shows signs of mushrooming? If so it may have been used by a blacksmith
as a forming tool or hot chisel. Might still have been made to be a cobbler's hammer, just repurposed?

The head on cobblers' hammers looks like the one here, it has not been mushroomed out.

Coddler's hammer, late 1800's my guess. My dad was a cobbler, some of the older hammers had a straighter tang like that one.
