I've found 2 1970D's, 2 1970S's, 7 or 8 total AG '76S's between the MS and PF editions. I have 3 or 4 modern 90% PF's, 2 90% old commemoratives, 2 Barbers, a bust half, several silver Canadian halves and a silver Panamanian Balboa. What I can't seem to find for some reason is a flippin' '68 or '69 proof half? Do you guys find these particularly hard to find, relative to some of the coins I just listed above? For some reason I'm interested in completing set of 40% halves from circulation and these two continue to elude me. Maybe a quick CWR hunt this morning will finally close the gap.

I got 2 each. I got 3 70-s at the same time. It was part of a $30 bank deposit that the teller bought and then I bought from her for 2x face....that's all she wanted. Well worth it in my eyes. Good luck finding those suckers.

I never found either.

I've found a few - it's really random

Thanks for the input. I also think I've got some bad mojo going because the last time I found a 1970 I could tell it was an NIFC 40er and was disappointed it was a 70 and not a 68 or 69. Should have been thrilled with another 70.

I've found quite a few, actually. I think I'm up to seven total between 1968S and 1969S. I've got a few 1970S and 1970D as well.

I've got 2 - 69s and 1 - 68s. I have never found a 1970 or a 1976 silver half. Another hunter that lives the next town over from me that I frequently talk to has found 4 1970 halves. I guess it's the right place/box at the right time

Thanks fella's. This supports the 'proof 40%ers are completely random' theory.

I just found my first 1969s today. Its all beat up and rusted and corroded, its a mess. I almost missed it, the rim was not recognizable much. It took a while to find this coin for me. Ive found 3 barbers, 8 x 1976s, both regular and proof, a 2 headed 1969 trick coin, a columbian expo half, a 1936 Long Island Tercentennary commemorative, a 1951 Booker t washington, a 1937 Dominican Republic 90%er, 11 modern silver proofs, + 1 2014 P mint silver proof 90%, 50th anniversary coin, so really 12 modern proofs. For me, its been very hard to find. been looking for about 3 years.

no 68s, 70d, or 70s for me either.

No, not particularly hard at all! I found 48 between them. One box had 25x69s plus 14 of 64 proofs! It was a shining box! I even found a few 65-67 SMS's
