How well does the MXT hold up to weather on the beach?

Just wondering how well the box and electronics hold up to salt and moisture while at the beach?

I've seen some weather proofing covers and such.

Has anyone had problems with the knobs and electronics?

What about regular rain and mist? (weatherproof question)

Nothing holds up to salt and moisture at the beach unless it's specifically made for it. Just the salt mist in the air will eat away at all metal. The stuff is brutal, wipe it down the best you can but over time it will take it's toll.

Just interested in hearing how well their MXTs have held up with beach use.

The MXT has O rings on the POT shafts. That should keep the dust/sand/moisture out. You can check them by pulling the knobs. I had a used MXT 300 - I replaced the rings b/c they were cracked.
