Howdy, how'd I do and other questions

Hello to all, I have been enjoying this site and all the forums for some time
now, finally decided to give CRH a try today. This is my first post, hope I
don't mess it up too bad. I got $90 in halves at one bank
and found a 66 Kennedy. Went back and she was happy to take the rest back.
I asked about what was in the vault and will pick up $600 in halves tomorrow.
The head teller didn't want to open the vault anymore today, I live in a very
rural area in a small town with 3 banks. I have small accounts at all 3.
I decided to check another bank and the teller said she had $400. in halves in the vault. I said I would take $200. She came back and said that all but $160
had black marker lines so I received 4 rolls with marks with my $200.
I didn't think I would run into marked rolls in this small town but there must
be someone else with the same idea as me.
In the first roll I found a Canadian "64", I believe this is .800 silver?
Also found one "67" and one "68" kennedy in the remaining rolls.
I found a very shiney but well circulated bicentennial. The mint mark appears
to be D filled in with metal. I also found a bicentenial with some letters missing
or barely visable in the Independence Hall lettering on the back. The letters around these missing letters appear normal. Are these two coins anything that
I should save or just common oddballs? Thanks in advance for any answers.

I guess I have to search some to figure out how to insert an avatar. T

Re: Howdy, how'd I do and other questions

Welcome to Tnet & congrats on your first finds, good luck tomorrow on the other halves & let us know what ya all find!

Re: Howdy, how'd I do and other questions

Id say good finds for the first go around. And you may want to avoid buying and then dumping at the same branch. Sometimes it makes the tellers ornery!

Re: Howdy, how'd I do and other questions

Thanks Seger98 and AFModell
I have been reading this forum up and down for some time and read the
advice before about dumping at different banks then where you buy, thanks
again for the heads up.
I asked the teller at the first bank if she wanted the original 9 rolls back, I added
another roll of clads to make an even $100. She seemed happy to get them
back. Its a small town and I know most of the tellers in all 3 banks. She even
said after I go through the $600 she will take them back so she doesn't have to
order more. I will figure out which bank will gets my dump coins after I get
into this a little more and see how they react. ;) ;)
This is new to me and I told her I don't want to be a pain, just looking to start
a coin collection. T

Re: Howdy, how'd I do and other questions

Welcome-
I believe that Canadian is 80% silver.
Congrats!

Re: Howdy, how'd I do and other questions

Got skunked on the $600. I am a very patient person but
I don't have the patience to look for all the errors or
an S mint mark, getting skunked on silver sucked all the joy right out
of this hobby. >:(
