UPDATE:
From experiminting w/ the Cortes I learned the easiest method to ground balance
the machine is to:
#1 start w/ the GB knob turned all the way to the Left which will give you a threshold
tone as your raising the coil so you turn the knob clockwise and press the coil towards
the ground and then lift it back up your trying to get no tone going in both directions
DOWN or UP, too me this is the simplest method.
Settings:
Sensitivity knob: 9-10
Discremenate Level: Set To Minimum
Notch: Set to Center Position
Threshold: Set to a Audible Tone, Manual states 1:30 to 2:00 O'clock Position
during testing i could here the Theshold @ Minimum
Light: Set to Center Position
Mode: Set to ALL-Metal
Starting point for GROUND BALANCEING the CORTEZ
set too GB KNOB to Minimum <all the way Counter Clock Wise> then as you move
the coil towards the ground you hear no Threshold sound till you start to lift the coil
start to turn the knob clock wise when the coil has been raised back up too 8" above
the ground and do it again, wneh you have no tone in both directions your Thru.
Thanks too the help of Vince Gifford @ Tesoro
Sincerely
Dave
