I found a huge number of political buttons in the trash today.

Here is maybe 1/5 of the buttons, the ones I found most interesting:

Remember these political, cultural, and historic events?

South African Apartheid, Tieneman Square Massacre, Jesse Jackson for US president, Mondale for president, Mayor Dinkins, 1980's Michael Jackson, etc.

There are another 150 or so in this bag:

Hi, nice find. Congrats:icon_thumleft:

Jackpot! Lots of history saved. Congrats

Now that is a great pick ! Not only are those nice vintage buttons, but I'm sure you are aware that there are collectors out there who will pay a nice sum of money for some of those.

Great buttons! I always see political buttons in museums we go to. Someone didn't realize what they were throwing away.

why do people do that all the things people toss wow good save

Score! 🙌 In situations like this...Google is your friend. 😂

Lol, yes, it took them over 35 years. I was wondering where all the Michael Dukakis 1988 buttons were, not a single one in the mix, then I realized this person was a die hard Jesse Jackson fan and there was no way they were voting for Dukakis who lost to Bush Sr. In a massive landslide.
