Out of my truck and 'on the ground' about 20 minutes after sunrise for what was to be a memorable hunt. Thankful for the variety and age of items found. I suspect some of the items may date from the 1800s: pickers check, ball button, and the Winchester rifle cartridge. Don't think anyone has detected here before, other than possibly "cherry-picking" quarters; there are just too many good targets.

Man you started early, that's a nice old Merc you pulled. Congrats on getting out, looks like you had a great hunt.

Hey L-D,

The early start was to beat the traffic down into the city. The expressway in gets jammed.

Thanks Moon... It was worth swingin' in the heat.

Nice finds, I've found two ball buttons but neither had the back, looks good whole.

Hey Qaela4,

No maker's mark. Been to this site five times now and found three buttons, all with intact shank.

Very nice! 😁 Great detail on the Merc.

Hey Ogre,

Yes. Looks like the merc was dropped a year or two after it was minted, which is amazing since it was minted on one coast and lost on the opposite coast!

That Mercury Dime is in incredible condition. Congrats on a great hunt :icon_thumright:
