Well, now that summer is here we have long days, no school and warm temperatures. Perfect for metal detecting in the evening(and daytime for Nate). Now only if we didn’t have the mosquitoes…..
Last weekend we scouted out some new spots. Explored some spots that had some real potential but didn't find too much there. Last couple days we have just hit the local spots(heavily hunted) and done much better.
Nate found the merc, rosie and 1943 nickel. I found the 39 Quarter very close to the spot where I earlier this year found the Standing Liberty Quarter. Couldn’t believe the signal was a solid 39. Was about 3-4 inches deep.
Nate said the only reason he found the Merc is cause he found a wheat at about 6 inches and just "went crazy" digging any singal near it. He said the Merc was about 7 inches deep.
Other picture is from last weekend. Mostly clad, a couple rosies, 24 wheats(I think our record for a weekend) and a Slot machine token that was made from 1939 to 1946.
