Well, now that summer is here we have long days, no school and warm temperatures. Perfect for metal detecting in the evening(and daytime for Nate). Now only if we didn’t have the mosquitoes…..

Last weekend we scouted out some new spots. Explored some spots that had some real potential but didn't find too much there. Last couple days we have just hit the local spots(heavily hunted) and done much better.

Nate found the merc, rosie and 1943 nickel. I found the 39 Quarter very close to the spot where I earlier this year found the Standing Liberty Quarter. Couldn’t believe the signal was a solid 39. Was about 3-4 inches deep.
Nate said the only reason he found the Merc is cause he found a wheat at about 6 inches and just "went crazy" digging any singal near it. He said the Merc was about 7 inches deep.

Other picture is from last weekend. Mostly clad, a couple rosies, 24 wheats(I think our record for a weekend) and a Slot machine token that was made from 1939 to 1946.

Great finds there! Not only do you guys get some nice old coins, but you also pull out a nice chunk of modern clad coinage every time out! Around here you have to search for about a week in order to get half that much clad at our parks! As for finding the silver here.. there is one park were I've seen a handful of indian heads come out but never one silver coin in my short detecting career. You are lucky up there! Keep itup!

That is a nice haul of coins you have there and looks like plenty of digging..........great job! 8)

Yep! Ya'll doin' great! Love the token!

Congratulations on your nice finds. I just love when someone says this spot is hunted out. I found my first Seated in a hunted out park.

Hi Mirage
Thats a nice pile of coins you guys found. I quit after a few minutes the other night because of the bugs! Today, here in PA, we have a break in the heat and humidity and I'm getting out as soon as I can. Have a great weekend & 4th.

"now thats a good story" ::) ;)

I don't think any spot is ever "hunted out" I have gone back to the same lumber camps, up to 5 times and each time I find more metal. These aren't small items. They are quite large such as axe heads , chains, parts of stoves, and numerous other items

Great finds you guys, keep us posted on those great finds.

I think I see a Flying Eagle in your future:)

HH, and have a GREAT FOURTH!, Ringfinder

P.S. I'll be at Shreve July 8th at Treasure week, just for
the weekend, but it is going on all week. Maybe you two
could get down there and see all the great vendors and maybe
even do some huntiing.
